Consumer’s Energy Notice
Consumers Energy will be performing annual maintenance work that includes natural flaring activity in our Ray Storage Field, located between 32 Mile & 33 Mile between North Ave. & Omo Road. We will be placing the flare at the location of the pin in the aerial shot below.
Flaring at this location will commence on Monday, April 21 through Wednesday, April 30 and will last for a few hours each day. Flaring activities will not extend after dark.
During this routine maintenance work, some pressurized natural gas will rise from the open wells. To ensure the safety of nearby neighbors, our workers and the environment, this excess natural gas will be burned off in a controlled manner. This is called flaring, which you may see or hear anywhere within the surrounding area of the job site. Flaring is a safe, common industry practice and is continuously monitored.
