Ray Township Fire and Rescue is a professional paid on call department. It was established in 1975 and is centrally located in the township at the corners of 29 Mile and Wolcott Roads. It is fully staffed and equipped to handle any and all fire and rescue emergencies.
All emergency calls are handled through the county wide 911 system.

Ray Township has an Open and Outdoor Burning Ordinance - 53. This ordinance allows residents to obtain a burning permit that will expire on December 31st of each year. There is a Burning Permit application that needs to be completely filled out and submitted before the yearly permit can begin.
